After winning a #1 contender match against Shorty Smalls in the opening contest on February 15th 2008, Brooks went on to face Kermon in the main event. Although Brooks was able to stand strong in his match against Kermon, the victory came when newly returning KYDA Pro star Sean "The Pinnacle" Patrick distracted the referee long enough for True Talent Inc. member Bobby Shields to attack Kermon with a chair. Brooks pinned Kermon for the three count to win the KYDA Pro Heavyweight Championship.
